TANYA CHUA

From a young age, Tanya had always been fascinated with architecture- finding creative inspiration in toys, picture books, science fiction, and video games. These interests lent themselves towards a propensity for working with BIM and 3D visualization.

When she studied architecture, Tanya realized that design is more than just drawing unconventional, futuristic buildings straight out of a sci-fi setting, or even the pragmatism of planning systems and spaces efficiently. She learned that architecture is about hope borne from a sense of purpose. It is about resilience, sustainability, and the drive to constantly improve. With enough determination despite numerous hardships, she earned her degree and graduated Cum Laude.

Tanya started her career as a draftsman specializing in low-density residential projects in Australia. Seeking further opportunities for growth, she became part of the in-house design department of a company of chain restaurants that are mainstays of Filipino culture. These experiences further honed her skills and enriched her passion for architecture.

Now, as part of GUMA Architects, Tanya is sharing her diverse range of skills and continuing to grow professionally by working on all kinds of projects.
